  1. In our district there are vey few poets at present. But long ago there were a fair amount of them. The following are the names of some I know.
    The late A. M. Larcy from Castlecomer. She composed a poem called "The Castlecomer Town". The late John Moran from "Sleibhín" who composed a poem called "The Meeting of the Dinan and the Deen" John Moran was killed by The Black and Tans and his father was killed in 1848.
    Michael Malone from Lisnafunchion composed a poem called "The Good of the Farmers". There is a man called Bill Culleton living at present and he composed a song called "The local Irish class". Mr. Kelly was teaching Irish in Lisnafunchion so this man composed the poem. Mr. Culleton is a native of Killcullen
