  1. There was an old man, who lived in the district of Smithstown. One night about twelve o'clock, he got up and he had two asses and a bantam.
    He got the asses and got up on one of them, and put the bantam on his head, and had a lighted candle in his hand. He went to the neighbour's window and shouted in, "If God went to Jerusalem on one ass, I am going on two".
