  1. My father sows an acre of potatoes. He tills the ground and manures it and then he opens the drills. He spreads the seed about a foot apart. Then he closes the drills. When the potatoes come up he puts clay to them. When they get strong he sprays them. In the Autumn he ploughs them out and picks them and puts them in a pit. The names of the potatoes are. Aran Bannors, Kers pinks, Irish Queens, Up to Dates and shamrocks.
