  1. The Church Field: There is a field in Lisnafunchin and it is called the "Church Field". Long ago when unbaptized babies died they were buried in this field and that is the reason how it got the name of the "Church field".
    Tobar an Capaill: There is a well in Maudlin and it is called "Tobar an Capaill". Long ago the King gave an order that a battle was to be there but no one new where it was.
    Kilmocar: The townland of Kilmocar is called after St Mocheara. He had a church there until Henry De Rockford came and took it. There was a well near by called "Tobar Muire" where the Blessed Virgin was supposed to have appeared. Sometime after the well was frofained and it went dry.
