  1. When we hear Conahy bell from our place its a sign of rain, Conahy Church is two and a half miles south west from our house. If we hear Ballyragget bell clearly we will have showers. Ballyragget is four miles north-west from our place. If we hear Castlecomer bell clearly we will have fine weather with North and East winds and snow. Castlecomer is about two miles north-east from our place. When the smoke lies low on the ground we will have rain. When the robin perches a high on a tree we will have a chance of a fine day.
