  1. There is a field in Newtwon known as the Money Hole. One half of the field is a big hill with many paths and tracks and little holes in it. There are bushes and furzes growing on every side of it. There was a woman living alone in the fields named Kitty Dobbin. She had a big crock of gold and many precious stones and jewels. Everyone knew she had plenty of riches. One day she said to herself that she would hide her treasure for fear a thief would come to her house some night and steal it. She hid it in this field. She died and the treasure was still in the field. It is said that you would have to dream about the hidden treasure three nights before digging for it. People dreamed about it three nights so one night
