  1. about 49 years ago this area was divided into 2 estates and owned by two Landlords named Lord Ventry and The O'Mahony.
A man named Mc Clure acted as land agent and has his office in a place called Glenhayel Kenmare.
Several tennants were evicted for non payment of Rent.
When the tenants were evicted they usually got shelter from one their neighbours or lived in a hut on the roadside.
The officers then became landlords when they allowed people to build houses according dividing a part of their estates into small plots for tenants.for tenants.

  2. Lord Ventry was the landlord of this district long ago.
He was here in this part 28 years ago.
He was not a bad Landlord.
He evicted nobody in this townland for he always gave time to pay the rent.
In the time of the Saxion the land was divided by the English Government and given to the soldiers who fought for her.
The Landlord had great control over the tenants for if they did not pay the rent they would be evicted.
