  1. "There is a cave in John Hunt's field and a school-master had once his school there for a few months and was getting on well until someone spied on him. The school-master heard of the spy and he was gone and hid.
    The teacher went and held his school in an old sandpit which was surrounded by whins. The sandpit was on the farm of Francis Scanlan, Clooncuis, in the barony of Leyney and in the County of Sligo. He did not stay long teaching in the sandpit but
