    the fairy said to her "what will you give me if I cure you"? The girl told her that she had nothing and money was very scarce, but if I had I would give you. So she said "show me your leg" and she rubbed her hand upon it and took out a great big butcher's knife. She could walk after, and that evening went out to the field to her parents. It was a fairy that put the knife in her leg.

    As I did rove by wood and grove
    No care did me assail,
    A pair I spied by the river side
    In Dobbin's Flowery Vale.

    All with a fond embrace
    The tears like pearly drops of dew
