  1. In the year eighteen eighty three, in the townland of Aughnamalla, of Tydavnet, Monaghan. A man was coming home from Monaghan riding a white horse. He was a little worse of drink and the horse was fresh. At the bridge, the horse frightened and threw the man. The horse trailed him. The neighbours were called and he was taken to the nearest house. When the doctor and the priest came, they found that the man's neck was broken.
