  1. About two hundred years ago an old woman and her husban were living in Longfield in a house now occupied by the Hamilton family. One night the woman got very sick and the man decided to go for the doctor.
    The old woman cried and did not want him to go. She said if he went that she would be riding on a white horse through the street when he would come back and that he would have an awful Job trying to get her down of the horse with the tongs.
    Away the man went and in a few hours returned with the doctor
