  1. In years long gone by a man called William Neil lived in the townland of Lisdoney. He walked to Armagh to buy a a donkey and cart. He purchased the cart but could not get a donkey to bring it home. Nothing daunted he took a grip of his cart and never stopped till he landed it in Lisdoney a distance of about 14 Irish miles. It would be a good days work to walk to Armagh and back but to take a donkey's cart that distance up hills of which there are many is a feat worth recording, for a man who was fifty years of age. That was done fortyfive years ago. He is now dead twenty years.
