  1. Settlers brought to the District.
A number of settlers were brought to the district for the building of Grieve Mills. They were all masons and mechanics, and one family named Wilson purchased a farm in the townland of Aughakist. They were an industrious family and as time went on purchased several small farms around them. Their descendants are in possession still the most flourishing people in the district.
