    Cures
    A person suffering from a styne on the eye was rubbed nine times with nine gooseberry thorns and prayers said at the same time.
    When a person was suffering from mumps, a donkey halter was placed round his neck and he was led three times in and out of the piggery and prayers said in Irish.
    An old man in the district wrote some prayers on a slip of paper for people suffering from tootach. They kept the prayer in their possession and always got well.
    Warts were cured by washing them in water found in the crevice of a rock without looking for it.
