    general heard the shot he turned to Montgomery and said "I must do something for you". He then made him landlord of these eight townlands.
    Montgomery divided the land into farms both large and small and gave them to the people at a rent of twenty two shillings and sixpence per acre for a year. This large sum was charged for mountainous districts and poor land.
    When a person owed two year's rent he was erected by the landlord. The tenant usually went away in the middle of the night without waiting to be evicted. He did this in order that the landlord could not seize anything belonging to him. This was called a "moonlight flit".
