John McGeogh of Annyglave is a very swift runner. Some year's ago he won the runner championship of Scotland. And before and after that he won many other races for which he got gold medals, gold cups, and a lot of other valuable prizes. My father saw him run some of these races.
An old man named Willy Brady was the swiftest runner in Clontibret some years gone bye. He put on a bet that he would run the train from Ballybay to Castleblayney.
He and train started together and he was in Castleblayney before it.
