  1. The battle of Clontibret was fought in the year 1595
    Segrave led the English and Hugh O'Neill led the Irish
    The battle was fought in the townlands of Lisglasson Carrickaderry and Tullybuck. Hugh O'Neill and Segrave had a battle of their own in a meadow at Tullybuck. Segrave cut the hand off Hugh before Segrave was killed. There is a well in Larry Wards meadow where Hugh O Neills horses drunk out of. There were old bullet found in the fields. The Irish walked from Monaghan and the English army walked from Dundalk down to the battle. Segrave was buried on the
