    Whooping Cough
There are a number of cures for whooping cough.
I). Some people believe that if they give a ferret milk to drink and then give the person infected with whooping cough what remains of the milk when the ferret has drunk. This is to be repeated for 9 days in succession.
II) If a person with whooping cough gets his or her god-mother or god-father to tie a red-tape around his or her neck it is believed to cure the cough.
III) Another cure is to get bread and butter from a woman whose surname is the same before and after her marriage
