    chair and warmed some milk and gave it to him.
    It was late now and the old woman asked the fairy for the crock of gold but the fairy said he knew not and that he had no money and that they might not ask him. The old pair wondered much at this and they threatened to burn him before ten o'clock. The little fellow cried and said he had no money. It was now ten o'clock and the old man took a creel of turf to make a good fire to burn the little fairy. They were about to throw him into the fire when he said " Tomorrow is the Fair in Shercock and whatever you wish for, you will get it" They were satisfied with this and early next morning Johnny went to the Fair with his wife and child and fairy child. They were not long on the road when they met a tinker and he had rattles for sale. Their own child was crying and the woman said "Oh I wish I had that
