    that the man was down at the lake. When St. Patrick got to the lake he could not find Longfellow so he suspected that Longfellow had changed himself into a fish. St Patrick said "Whatever way you are now, be that way" and from that time Longfellow has never been seen.

  2. About half a mile outside the town on the Castleblayney Rd. is the mass cave. In this cave a priest was saying mass one day and the soldiers surrounded it. They tried to get into it but failed. As they had no other means of putting the priest to death they set fire to the cave and the priest was suffocated within.
