    You maidens all both great and small come listen unto me.
    Till I relate my cruel fate and my sad destiny.
    I was courted by a comely lad but he had left me soon.
    A broken hearted maiden on the hills of Magheracloone.
    II.
    Many a summer's evening beneath the hawthorn tree
    I listened to his merry tales of innocense and glee.
    But now alas those flattering words have almost proved my ruin
    And leaves me broken hearted on the hills of Magheracloone
    III.
    Many a winter's night I spent behind the window blind
    I'd often think I'd hear him come
    but it was but the wind
    Or the rustling of the falling leaves upon the pavement strewn
    Reminding me when he'd call to see the maid of Magheracloone
