One night a man named Michael Lynch who lived in Glenflesk was returning from Killarney. He met a spirit in the form of a woman and he knew she killed every one she met. She sat down to talk to him and asked him for a smoke and this he willingly gave her, Then she asked him to sing. The man was by no means able but by some unnatural power he started. Then she said to him go away now and you are the first one I ever left go. The song was afterwards styled 'Bean (?) an gleanna.
