    John, the eldest of the four turned back to take him up, and seeing him on the same spot, stooped to take him up, but could find nothing. He then went back to his three brothers and told them the story.
    The four went home very bewildered, but saw nothing else. Next day John got sick and died six months after.

  2. Long ago there lived in Mahantourig a man named John Cronin. He went rambling to other people every night and kept very late hours. Local people often dressed up to try and frighten him on his journey home but no good. He got so accustomed to them & their doings that he used stand on the road and laugh at them.
