  1. There was a man there long ago called Gobán Saor. He was a very witty man and he wished to get his son married toi a witty girl. He told his son to invite a girl to the house but she must not come either in daylight or in darkness - nor by the road or through the fields - nor to come alone nor bring anyone with her. If he found a girl to do this she should be his wife.
    A girl did come in the twilight walking on top of the road fence and she brought her dog with her.
    The old man was very pleased with the girl.
