  1. There were three Arthur O'Leary's of three different generations hanged wrongfully so ever since the O'Leary's gave up calling the name Arthur on any of their children.
    This Arthur lived at Knockanimiris with his mother who was a widow.
    He was carman carting goods from Cork to Tralee. One day on his way home from Cork with a load of goods a messenger met him outside Millstreet to tell him that an informer had sworn on him and that he should go away into hiding to escape arrest. He said that would be a very foolish thing to do as he could easily prove that he was in Cork and therefore was innocent. He came on and was arrested outside
