(continued from previous page)one night two men went into the wood to get some timber. They saw a fine tree lying on the ground and set to cut it. Suddenly the man appeared to them and sat upon the tree. One of the men said "we will cut away and leave him the log he is sitting on" and he said to the man on the log "that if the devil was to take him he would have the rest."
