  1. The townland of the Pattern is situated in the parish of Tough. It got its name from the Pattern Fair that used be held there. There is no village or town there, and in the fields and on the road-side the cattle used be bought and sold. That fair is now held in Killorglin. The 11th of February was the day of the Pattern, that was the feast of St. Gobnait.
