  1. The Killarney rowing Club was established in '78 or '79. It was called the Lough Leane rowing club. Drapers, Grocers, bakers, carpenters and plasterers all had their own crew. The drapers won in the first regatta, although the bakers were considered the best. the R.I.C. then joined. For the next regatta the hotels had boats and crews of their own.
