  1. 1. One day when Mr. Herbert, the owner of Muckross in the eighteenth century, was building the new Muckross House he wanted to get good earth to set his garden as he said that the earth of the grave yard would be the best. One day he went to see the men working and when he was going home he came to the turn of the road. He turned his head round to see if the men were still working. On turning he found he was unable to move his head and it remained that way until every shove of the earth was put back in the graveyard.
