  1. The name of the landlord in this district was Lord Kenmare. They came at the time of the wars between the Catholic and Protestant Kings of England fighting for the Catholic side.
    The first man that came was Valentine Charles Browne, and because he fought for the Catholic side, he was awarded lands around Killarney.
    Lord Kenmare was a good landlord. There were a small number of evictions.
    The evicted people went to America. the big farms were divided between different members of the family. There were battles fought of evictions.
