During the severe thunderstorm in the second week of August very heavy rain fell in some districts. The rivers over-flowed their banks, and in many places cattle and pigs were drowned In Tralee the streets got flooded in the night-time, and it burst into all the buildings. In private houses there was great damage done to carpets and furniture, and store-keepers lost heavily where the floods damaged the goods. But there were no lives lost. About four years ago we had a very heavy snowfall. The snow kept falling for about fourteen hours, and in sheltered places it was seven or eight high.
