  1. Our local fairs are held at Knocknagree, (Rathmore, Co. Kerry) and at Killarney (Co. Kerry) but fairs were held at Rathmore (Kerry) formerly Knocknagree fair is the only fair that is holding good at present. Killarney fair is held in an enclosed fair-field, and Knocknagree fair is held in the village. When the animals are sold, they are marked with mud by the local buyers, and by cutting hair in the Lide.
    When the animals are marked, they are put into a backyard, and after awhile are conveyed to the station.
    Fairs are held for the sale of all animals. Luck-money is given at every fair, and custom is paid. It is according to the value of the beast that custom is paid Long ago buyers used to
