- It is said that O Donoghue comes riding round the Killarney lakes every May morning once in seven years.
One day he came as far as the "Bog of the Meal" and he met O'Connor there. They had an argument and O'Donoghue said he would send him over the lakes and drown O'Connors District. Then O'Connor said he would send back the bog and so kill all the fish in the lakes. O'Connor acted first for he sent back bog and eater, and the people say that is why the bog ran from this locality and into the Killarney lakes. This bog is ever since called the "Moving Bog".- Collector
