    As I eat and drink I often think of the happy days gone by.
    When each lad and lass at fair and mass
    Had a beautiful coaxing eye.
    They were healthy and grand.
    Prepared to stand the battle and the breeze,
    They're pallid and wan and their colour is gone
    Since they started to make the cheese.

    As I passed that way the other day I met with Narry Jack
    She said m'anam an domhain your'e very run down
    Your belly is stuck to your back.
    Is there anythign wrong
    You're not looking strong.
    Are you troubled from bugs or fleas?
    Wisha Narry asthore its my stomach thats sore,
    Since they started to make the cheese.
