  1. 1. Sprains and cramped sinews - Use march malice. It is set and grows 4" high and has a blue blossom. If you scrape the bark and some of the roots you get a good ointment by boiling with cream.
    2. For a toothache boil camomile in water and bathe your cheek with the water.
    Use also a half glass of this for stomach trouble.
    3. Comfry is used as a poultice for a horse.
    4. For worm-boils mac a' r'ar Sama which has roots like fingers. The roots are taken and washed and put under zuotac and roasted in a leaf of cabbage. The patient must not be inside while this is being done. When the root is soft open it out, put on a cloth as a poultice. Call in the patient, put to the last boil coming on and let it on for some time.
    5. For a sty make the sign of the cross with a gold ring for 9 mornings.
    6. For Red Muirain in cattle make two parts of a half pint of whiskey. Give one in the morning and the other at night.
    7.For scour in calves cut 1 d worth envelopes into small bits. Boil them in milk and dose.
    8. For red water let the first to see the animal stick a pin in a nail in the ground.
    9. For Ruad peisce knot a cord 3 times so that when you pull the knots will disappear. Do this over the animal
