  1. In the old time when the people would be finishing the digging of the potatoes it was the custom to make a stampy cake. They used to grate the flouriest piece of the potato and mix some flour with it, and bake it in an oven. When it would be baked they used to cut it through the middle, and put on a slice of butter and eat it with new milk.
