  1. In a neighbour's house there was a lovely child. One day the mother went out for turf and to her surprise when she came back her child was gone and a fairy child put instead so he was in the cradle for years. You would not be the better of this child looking at you.
    One evening an other neighbour was crossing the way and he said to the child if he would be alive when he was coming back he would pull out the fire and put him behind it. On the man's returning home that night the child was dead.
