    There are two other old women in the townland, one is Mrs Kerin, known as Ellen Kelleher and the other is Mrs O'Brien, known locally as Mague Hayes.
    In former times there were more houses in the townland, the ruins of some of those can still be seen. In one of those an old couple lived -Tom Kerin and his wife Nell Cournane. After some time they went away to their children in America. The night before they left they had a party. This was called an American Wake. All the packing was done and all the cases and trunks were locked, but if during the night anybody got any old Giobal around the house, Nell would say "Show't here to me til l put it one me." In the morning she was hardly able to walk out the door with all the things she had on her. When they left in the morning, they left the door wide open after them.
    In another house there lived two brothers known as Seán Dearg and Donal. They were very poor, and they used go around the country begging in the summer. There was a glen near their house, and one would travel
