- Once upon a time there were races held at Ballyplymoth. Large crowds attended them. When the races began some of the men went to the castle near by, and climbed it, in order to have a good view of the races.
In the end there were such a crowd in the castle that one of the men slipped into a hole. When he looked around he saw something shining. He lit a match and to his great joy he found a pot of gold. He took it to the Bank, and he was well rewarded for the gold.(continues on next page)
