  1. People used to be about fifteen or sixteen years old when they used to begin to wear boots. My father tells me that we had a servant boy name Ellis who never wore boots or shoes and that his feet were so tanned that he could walk on glass.
    Children are present go barefoot in the Summer but not in the Winter. Shoes are repaired locally. Shoemakers learned their trade. People used to wear clogs up to five or six years ago but clogs were never made locally.
