  1. The local roads are known as Thade Devane's Road; Poll Road; Maugha Road; Yellow Road; The Puddly Boreen; The Ould Road; Been Road; Graffeen Road. The roads lead from the houses to meadows, to bogs and to gardens.
Some of the roads were made about a hundred years ago. They were made through the mountains. People got employment and worked in the making of them for a shilling a week.
There are very old roads in the district but they are not still used.
There are paths and by-ways in the school district and also mountain passes.
Before bridges were made in the district the rivers were crossed by fordable shallow places.
They usually have a platform erected at cross-roads where the local people dance in the summer evenings.
There are heaps of stones placed along some of the by-rads to mark the place where someone was shot or killed.
There are no Mass-paths in the district.
