  1. Sore throat was cured by getting the plant called garlic and then cutting it up into small pieces and after steeping it in hot water to apply it to the throat as a poultice.
    They cured pimples by mixing sulphur with treacle and then drinking it.
    A cure for a cold was to drink milk with "Carragheen" moss.
    For a sprained leg the victim put the injured leg under a water fall or a water spout.
    A cure for hic-coughs was to keep in your breath while counting up to thirty.
    The cure for a head ache was to tie a stocking around the head.
