  1. Long ago in Penal Times when there was a price on the priests heads, a priest named Father O'Connor was saying mass in one of the glens of Inchaloughra, Castlegregory, when an informer informed the soldiers, and they stile on them through Araglin, Castlegregory. The congregation escaped, but the priest was caught, and beheaded, and where his blood was spilled the stairs were never washed away, and are to be seen to the present day. The print of the priests hand is to be seen also on a rock.
