    In Dublin town I was brought up.
    The city of great fame.
    My parents reared me tenderly
    And many know the same.
    I been a bold united boy,
    I was forced to cross the seas.
    For seven long years in our new south wales
    To wear the convict chains.
    I was no longer than six months
    Upon the Australian shore.
    I turned out a Fenian boy
    As I often did before.
    Michael O' Mara from yonder woods
    And captain Mackey too.
    They were the chief assocaites
    Of bold O'Donoghue
    O'Donoghue was taken
    For a most glorious crime
    His sentence was to be hung
    Upon the gallows high when he came to
    Sydney jail.
    He bid them all adieu.
