    thought the people were trespassing too much on his land so he decided to run the well dry but he did not succeed. Next he railed in the well but in spite of his efforts his cattle were being drowned in falling into the well. He removed the stakes and wire from the well and people pay their "rounds" there as usual. I myself have paid some "rounds" to the same well. The parish Church of Brosna is dedicated to St. Maoiling.
