    1 If a person spills salt he is supposed to fight with someone before that day is to an end, but if he throws a grain of it over his right shoulder it will avert the fight
    2 If a person dropped a spoon it is a sign that a child is coming to the house
    3 If a knife is dropped it is a sign of a lady visitor
    4 If a fork is dropped it is a sign of a gentleman's visit
    5 To walk under a ladder is the sign that you will grow no more
    6 To drop your glove and to pick it up yourself is supposed to be a disappoint-ment but for another person to pick it up for you, and not thank them is an introduction for that person.
    7 To open a umbrella in a house is a sign of bad luck.
