Near Castlemaine by the side of the road is a stone and in it is water. It is said that if you had sore eyes and went there before sunrise in the morning and rubbed the water to your eyes while you said a prayer you would be cured. It was said that a girl by the name of O'Neill a protestant was cured. Once the Parson of the place took the stone to his house and put it into a room but next morning it was down near the road again. He tried again but it went and he locked it into his sitting room and it was gone next morning.
