  1. There is a fort in the Kerries which is circular in shape having a fence around it.
    it is called the "Fairy Fort" because every night at twelve o'clock a number of fairy dance and sing there. The king of the fairies sits in the middle of the ring on a stool, while the fairies dance around him.
    One night while the dancing and singing was going on, a man was coming home. He went into the fort and disturbed the fairies. They were very angry, and ran at him and beat him with sticks and stones and put a hump on his back. He went home sorry for what he had done. The river went near the
