- Many years ago a herdsman of the name
of Kelly who lived in the townland of
Taverane had a dream on three nights in
succession that there was a hoard of gold
hidden beneath a rock situated not very far
from his own house. In the dream he was
told that he should dig beneath the rock before
the break of day and that he was not to
speak to anyone who might happen to come
along. It was also revealed to him that he
