  1. The townland which I live is Clooneigh. It is situated in the Parish of of Gurteen and in the barony of Coolavin.
    There are about fifteen families in it and over seventy people. The most common name is Murray. There are three families in it having that name.
    A few years ago most of the houses were thatched but now more than half of them are slated.
    Clooneigh (Cluaneith) means the lawn of the horse.
    There are three old people in Clooneigh over seventy namely:- John and Edward Brennan and Mrs Murray all of Clooneigh, Gurteen. None
